![]() Real apples have a lot more to them, they're round but definitely not perfect spheres they have those bumbs on the bottom that lead into that dip with the leafy looking spot, at the top the stem grows out of another dip and if you use an apple slicer enough times it can seem like those two ends of the core never line up straight et cetera, if someone really wanted too they could go on explaining every little aspect something very simple for a long time But this isn't "really" what an apple in real life looks like it's more a symbol of an apple. If you take an apple for example, a lot of people may draw a circle with a stem and probably a leaf sticking out, maybe a semi-circle dent in the side for a bite taken out of it. A good phrase I learned from one of my art teachers is "draw what you see not what you think you see", when we go about our day we usually don't focus on exactly what common objects truly look like. One very important part of drawing that's easy to forget about is studyingįor drawing in general, this means looking at references and examing what things look like.
